DEFENSIVE mistakes again cost Burnley dear as their play-off hopes suffer a setback.

Two goals in two first half minutes virtually put the game out of sight, as Burnley dominate possession but concede to two sucker punches.

First, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake's pass somehow evades both Clarke Carlisle and Stan Varga, before being poked into the net by Seyi Olofinjana.

Within moments, Carlisle plays a woeful pass back to Kiraly without looking, and Michael Gray charges down a clearance from the Hungarian before watching the ball rebound into the the goal.

And it went from bad to worse when, five minutes after the interval, Kiraly allowed Ebanks-Blake's tame shot to squirm under him and over the line.

Ade Akinbiyi did pull one back, stabbing home at the second attempt from Wade Elliott's cross, but it was too little too late.
