THREE defensive mistakes cost Burnley as they stutter to defeat at Plymouth.

The Clarets were the better side from the first whistle to the last, but three errors mean they fail to extend their impressive away record.

Brian Jensen allowed the ball to wriggle under his body for the Pilgrims' first goal on 12 minutes, before James O'Connor headed an equaliser from Kyle Lafferty's assist.

However, Plymouth regained the lead going into the break after Peter Halmosi fired home following a goalmouth scramble, despite the Clarets having numerous opportunities to clear.

And Halmosi made the game safe in the second half when he pounced on Jon Harley's error and fired home past Jensen.
