Harrison Hartley - Book of condolence

FUN-LOVING Harrison Hartley was a much-loved son and friend to many.

His tragic death on Saturday - at the age of only 14 - has left the close-knit community in Rosegrove shocked.

Young and old alike across Burnley have been stunned at the reports of how he was hit by a car in the fast lane of the M65 on Thursday evening as he ran to retrieve a football.

Here is your opportunity to pass on your sympathy to his devastated family and friends and share your memories of the boy who liked to be known as "H".
Harrison Hartley

I was really upset to hear about Harrison.

I just can't imagine what his family must be going through. It's something like this happening that makes you think about what's important in life, isn't it?

Gill, Brierfield

My prayers and thoughts are with Harrison's family at this tragic time. As his form tutor at Hameldon Community College, I always found him to be an extremely well mannered and thoughtful young man. I will never forget his cheery face and wonderful sense of humour. You may have been taken from us H, but no one can ever take away all the memories we have of you.
Mrs Chris Marsden (HCC)
Dear Harrisons mum and dad
Harrisons mum you might not remember me my name is Arran Ingham I was one of Harrisons friends when he was at Lowerhouse. I am really shocked and upset to find that one of my mates has passed away. I describe Harrison as a cracking mate and a sound guy I can't believe that one of my best mates at junior school has gone. Me and my mum give our deepest sympathies.
Harrison you will be sadly missed by all the Burnley army cadets. We had great times together and have left us all with something to remember you by (your amazing smile).

You made everyone laugh when they was down and was lots of fun to be around.

You have given the greatest gift of all by helping others and with this we know you are still with us and will always be there, watching us all. You would have made a wicked Lance Corporal! You will always be in our hearts miss you always.

Jade Marshall ( Waterloo Detachment )x x

My name is Elliot Hobson I went all the way through school with Harrison from Rosegrove infants to Lowerhouse junior school then onto Hameldon high school, me and my family send our deepest condolences to the Hartley family and are praying for you. You will be sadly missed Harrison, you were a good friend . Elliot

hiya ........

When God was making best mates,
as far as I can see
He spent a lot of time on one
and saved him just for me.
He made this wonderful person
compassionate and kind
with more love and understanding
than you could ever hope to find.
He gave my best mate, Harrison
a heart of solid gold
and when his job was finished
he simply broke the mould.

To H's mum, dad and family also friends,

I have known H for 10yrs and he was always smiling and making sure all his m8s were ok. When I got told in a local shop I couldn't believe what I had heard I was so shocked me and Hollie another close friend was walking down to school saying it can't be our H. When we got to school and people were coming up to me saying have you heard about Harrison I broke down I then knew what I had been told was true no matter how much I didn't want to know. I can't imagine the upset all you are going through. I thought this poem would be nice for H:

Harrison was always there for his friends,
Our love for him well never end,
He was strong and caring,
But sometimes to daring,
You are always here in our hearts,
You was also brainy and smart,
I will leave you know to rest,
I wish your family all the best.

R.I.P
H

Love you loads Ami-Jade xx

All my sympathy to the family of H missing you loads and don't worry I'll find you when I come, all I will look out for is your blue trainers lol. Missing you and love you loads H love Ami Xxxxx.

Do you know what 'H', I know that wherever you are and what ever your doing, your going to be making so many people laugh and smile with you along the way, I guess God was running out of angels and had to steal you away from us. You were always a smiler and you live on within our hearts.

'And i know your smiling down on us from heaven, like so many friends we've lost upon the years'
My deepest sympathies go out to Harrisons families, no words will ever help but your in my prayers.

I went to school with Harrison from reception to year six, and I have many great memories with Harrison, such as the talent show in year 3, and playing football with him in the yard. When my mum went on the Burnley Express website last week and told me what had happened to him, I was devastated and shocked, and even though me and my family are now in America, our deepest thoughts, sympathies, and prayers are with Harrison and his family.

Our condolences go to the family of Harrison, we are all deeply saddened with the tragedy, our hearts and love go out to those close to Harrison. With love. Sarah Stevenson, Jessica& Aaron Masson.xxxx

To Harrisons Mum, Sister and Niece,
I'm truly sorry to hear about Harrison, he was a brilliant lad and will be missed by many people. After watching him grow up whilst he lived in Rosegrove it is going to be hard to come to terms that he is no longer with us. I suppose the only thing I can say is that he's safe where he is now and you will be reunited with him in the future. I hope everyones support helps you through this hard time and my heart goes out to you.
All my love Geminii Ellis x

I remember Harrison from when he used to come on the day trips for family members at Cakeboards. He was always very polite & well mannered, a lovely little boy. I last saw him at his Grandma Jeans surprise party & he looked like he was growing up into a lovely young man. My thoughts & prayers are with you at this very, very sad time, Donna, Taina, Jean & the rest of his family. Goodnight Harrison, rest in peace.

Those stars so up there with it highs,
The blinding suns, you eclipse our eyes,
We cherish our memories,
Makes our healing remedies,
For those shedding tears of love,
After your tragedy,
I see emotions grabbing more than me,
Were all trapped in the pain,
Why did he have to take you away?
We all aren’t the same,
Though the angels take you always,
We will always reminisce,
About the good days,
In the comfort of your bliss,
Though your gone nothing else being forgiven,
Our tears floating to you in heaven,
Expressing emotions more,
Our teardrops getting bigger,
We no nothing for what were crying for,
For you we all adore,

I was 1 of H's mates he was the nicest lad I had ever met it is so upsettin now hes gone life will never be the same (Harrison look afta urself n dont change for n e think) miss ya lwds xxx

This young gent was an angel he was my nephews best friend and had a heart of gold , as an adult looking in on teenage life this young chap was a role model to us all, he was at the house and I had given out xmas prezzies early to the boys and their mum and H was there, they all received a huge jar of jelly beans and I didn't bring H any as I didn't know he was there, anyways they all began a huge jelly bean fight and H struck up a deal with his friend to swop something of his for the Jar of Beans, after the fight had finished, he realised it was time to go home, and this is what made me instantly know this young man was special, he turned to his friend who had swopped H for the beans and H gave back the beans and said I'm off now heres your gift back and then Narrhhhh man!!!! keep those as well and let Joshua keep his swopped item too, this is not the actions of a selfish teenager, but a young man who had the manners and respect for friends and must have been brought up by the best.

To Harrisons parents you did a great job.

To H whenever I need to restore my faith in youth you were the perfect rolemodel, goodnite and god bless and remember you saved Lives and that makes you a hero in all our eyes.

R.I.P Harrison always thinking bout u n thinking bout ur family take care chick xxxx God bless

This is Harrison’s Uncle Shaun. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank everyone for their heart-warming messages for Harrison. They have been so overwhelming and touching.

I always knew Harrison was much loved, but I didn’t realise he was loved by so many people. Not many people can have that affect on others. That is a special gift, and I am so proud of him. It’s true that Harrison would do anything for anybody but no more than his mum, Donna, he was her “Little Man” and she will miss him forever.

Harrison was a dedicated brother to Taina and God only knows how much she will miss him. He was an amazing uncle to Caitlyn and Ashleigh, he was so proud to be their “Unckie H”. They will grow up hearing so many special things about him. I just wish that they could have found that out for themselves, Harrison will be so sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

Harrison would have made something of his life, I know it, he had that in him, you could tell, he was so special. I miss him so much he was my nephew; my Godson and I loved him with all my heart. I just hope other children will learn from this tragedy and think a little harder before they won't be able to think at all!

My heart also goes out to the driver, he is another victim in all this mess, he doesn’t deserve all this pain and my thoughts are with him and his family.

I would also like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses for their dedicated efforts to save Harrison, I was told that God always takes the best ones first. Now I believe it.

I love you H, Uncle Shaun.

So sad and so sorry to hear about the loss of your beautiful boy. From all the tributes he was one of those special people that everybody loves.

He will live on in the hearts of everybody who knew him and the people that he will help to live.
Donna and Steve Grogan and family.

My son went to the same school didnt know him to well but everyone he spoke to him about said he was a really good mate to them may God be with you all deepest symperthy

I am so sorry to see him go but I only knew him from Ivy Bank BEC when I was in year 9 at school and I saw him in Rosegrove sometimes when I was up there he knows me well because I used to play out with him near his home in Rosegrove he was a good friend and I will miss him from MATTHEW WRIGHT.

To Harrisons family, we are deeply sorry to hear of your loss.

Your smile shines, like a star at night.
To loose you so soon, is just not right.
You leave behind your love and memory.
To shine on here eternally.
